Four Seasons Oolong

Usually four seasons oolong is not much of a tea to write home about. However, on a recent trip to Lugu in the middle of Taiwan, I came upon this particular four seasons oolong which made me re think my position on this tea. This four seasons has a completely different characteristic than the lightly fermented versions you will find on the market. This tea has been fermented longer during the tea making process giving it a deeper body, texture and overall fuller body and mouth feel. It doesn’t have the same high fragrance like its lightly fermented counterparts but it does boast a very appealing fruity flavor profile, sweetness, and huigan. If I didn’t tell you what this tea was, it could easily be mistaken for high mountain oolong. So if you like high mountain oolongs but maybe can’t afford to drink them everyday, this four seasons can serve as very affordable substitute.
